Work Experience Program
The Pavilion offers a comprehensive work experience program for high school students in the Sutherland Shire. As a state-of-the-art performing arts venue, our program provides students with a dynamic and enriching experience that explores the possibilities of a future in the performing arts industry.
Work Experience Availabilities
The Pavilion offers up to four work experience opportunities each year, lasting one week. These run during Terms 2 and 4, with specific dates flexible to accommodate the venue’s activity calendar.
Program Overview
The program offers a comprehensive insight into the performing arts industry including hands-on experience in venue operations, marketing, box office, technical production, and programming.
Application Criteria
To apply, please submit a cover letter detailing your interest in a work experience placement at The Pavilion, along with your preferred dates. Please note, the program is only available to Year 10 students attending a Sutherland Shire based school. Phone call applications will not be accepted.
Venue Accessibility
The Pavilion is a fully accessible venue for students and teachers. Many shows in The Pavilion’s Schools Program feature Auslan interpretation, and the entire venue is equipped with hearing augmentation to enhance the experience for all patrons.
Lift access is available to all areas, and flexible seating options accommodate patrons using wheelchairs or those with mobility needs. Additionally, the venue features a Viewing Room which is a quieter space that can support students with sensory sensitivities.
