Making its world amateur theatre debut with Miranda Musical Theatre Company, Georgy Girl tells the true story of Australian folk-group The Seekers on their rise to international fame, the challenges of success and all the laughs along the way.
Set against the backdrop of their journey from small gigs in Melbourne to worldwide success, the show highlights the personal and professional highs and lows of the band members: Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger, and Bruce Woodley. Featuring classic hits such as “I’ll Never Find Another You,” “A World of Our Own,” and of course, the Oscar® nominated “Georgy Girl,” the musical blends humour, nostalgia, and drama, capturing the spirit of the era and the band’s enduring legacy.
