Please note this concert takes place at the Sutherland Arts Theatre on East Parade.

What could be more beautiful than a string orchestra presenting favourites such as Grieg’s “Holberg Suite” and a Mozart Divertimento, along with treats such as Massenet’s “Meditation” from Thaïs and Rachmaninov’s “Vocalise”!

Sutherland Arts Theatre’s intimate setting will enable the Violins, Violas, Cellos and Double Bass to present Chamber Music as it was meant to be. The program also includes works by Sarasate and Karl Jenkins.

Maria Lindsay (Orchestra Leader) and Angela Lindsay (Principal Viola) founded the Lurline Chamber Orchestra in 2009, based on their shared love of the rich beauty and versatility of the genre. Both Maria and Angela received intensive chamber orchestra training as students and went on to perform as members of the Australian, Vienna and Adelaide Chamber orchestras.

Lurline Chamber Orchestra’s performing engagements have included Bowral Autumn Music Festival, Kangaroo Valley Arts Festival, Music at the Gallery – National Gallery of Australia, Hunter Baillie Spring Festival of Music, Randwick Twilight Concerts and the International Space Time Concerto Competition in Newcastle.

The orchestra has held very successful seasons across Sydney in line with their philosophy of making quality music accessible to people of all ages, in as many areas as possible.
