One of the most electrifying voices in contemporary jazz and soul makes her long -awaited Australian debut at Sutherland Pavilion this September.
Described as “the Grace Jones of jazz,” Lady Blackbird has captivated audiences across Europe and the United States with a voice that defies categorisation – equal parts raw power, gospel fire, and whispered intimacy.
Her 2021 critically acclaimed debut album Black Acid Soul announced the arrival of a truly singular artist, earning her the Jazz FM Award for International Jazz Act of the Year in 2022 and igniting a fanbase that has only grown fiercer since. Her 2024 follow-up album Slang Spirituals – a bold, deeply personal record spanning jazz, soul, gospel and psychedelic rock – landed her on the Best Album of the Year list, cementing her place as one of the most important voices of her generation.
A collaborator of the highest calibre, she has shared stages and studios with Gregory Porter, Moby, Billy Porter, and Nitin Sawhney, while selling out some of Europe’s most iconic venues night after night.
Don’t miss your chance to witness this once-in-a-generation talent live and intimate for the first time in Australia.
