Come and be blown away by the 12 outstanding Youth Music Awards Performance-Section Finalists. Aged 13 to 18 years, these talented young soloists will showcase a wide variety of instruments and styles – something for everyone!
The evening will start with presentations to the Young Composer Section prize-winners. You’ll be amazed by their talent when you hear two of these compositions played. The 2025 theme was “Unity”.
This year’s adjudicators are Robert Johnson & Ron Prussing (Performance) and Amanda Cole & John Peterson (Composition).
Entrants in the Youth Music Awards must live or attend school in the Sutherland Shire or St George areas. Although the cash prizes (Performance and Composition) at this 33rd Finals Concert amount to over $7000, the focus is on the experience gained rather than the competition aspect. Check out the finalists’ names and instruments at www.sutherlandmusicclub.org.au or the Sutherland Music Club Facebook page!

Even if I hadn’t been asked … to undertake some official duties, I would’ve enjoyed being there in my own right and listening to all that brilliant local talent taking their first steps towards great musical futures.
