Drop deadpan beautiful man-singing that might well change your life.
A male vocal group formed in the Blue Mountains in 2001, The Spooky Men’s Chorale is a judicious combination of Georgian table songs, beautiful ballads and (somewhat inappropriate) covers, all of which are done using only their voices, a sly collection of hats, facial hair and a twinkle in the eye!
After attracting wider attention at their debut performance at the National Folk Festival in Canberra, they now perform to sell-out audiences across Europe and Australia, and have just returned from their 11th UK tour where they received a 10,000 person standing ovation at Fairport’s Cropredy Convention.
The Spooky Men have appeared on TV programs Spicks & Specks and The Mix. The Spooky Men invite you to joyously experience a wall of “mansound”, then laugh stupidly, and venture with them into areas of great tenderness.
“Sheer musical excellence – like the ghosts of choristers long gone”
Sydney Morning Herald
“The Spooky Men's Chorale is everything you'd hope an Aussie male a cappella group would be! Irreverent, audacious, satirical, funny – and at the same time whimsical, tender, sincere and harmonious. If perchance they are appearing somewhere near you, don't miss them. They are really something special.”
Stage Whispers
“A group like this connects with audiences not only because of their exquisite harmonies, but also for their anarchic refusal to be pigeonholed. ★★★★”
